These XML files describe all the Peripherals in a system (and the MMIO addresses they exist at), the Registers within those Peripherals, and the Bitfields within those Registers. Where bitfields have a well defined set of values, it produces enum types that cover that set, and it offers read, write and modify functions for each register.
